Etiquette is described as conventional requirements as to social behavior; proprieties of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion. It is wholly expected that a predator will mistreat his or her prey in some manner (be it physically, verbally or even emotionally.) However this does not mean that they should do so out of character. Proper roleplay etiquette means that respect should be maintained during out of character or OOC conversations.
IC or In Character is your state maintained outside of the safehouse by default. From the moment you step outside of the safehouse you are assumed to be In Character, or IC. Anything you say or do while outside of the safehouse will be used as IC motivation for anyone around you. This does not necessarily mean that you cannot be IC while in the safehouse, but it is not assumed or even expected. It is however expected that while outside of the safehouse OOC actions be noted using double parenthesis. Such as ((BRB bathroom))
OOC is Out of Character is anything that pertains to the person behind the keyboard. Also can be spelling corrections, clarifications of RP actions, or descriptors of limits. Essentially everything your character wouldnt do/say.
Many people have different ways of emoting. This is the meat and potatoes of role play generally. This describes everything except what your character says and can be accomplished many ways, below is an example:
/me walks into the bar letting a long drawn out sigh. He slides into the barstool placing his hat on the seat next to him, nodding to the bartend. Ill have a double of Jack, on the rocks. he says settling in.
Post Order (Power gaming)
Before your partner responds it is considered courteous to wait for a response. Give your partner a chance to react to your actions and build a reply before sounding off. Most people dont enjoy being told 3-4 actions in quick succession, as they cant build a post to reply. IE:
/me drags her into the warehouse and fastens her body tight to the office chair.
/me pulls out his cock and begins shoving it in her mouth
Oh you like that dont you
/me grabs at her breasts through her shirt while putting a knife to her throat with his other hand.
(Meanwhile partner is in state of confusion)
/me drags the womans flailing body into the warehouse. He spots a chair and grins, setting her down in it and binding her restraints to it with some rope that hed pulled from within his jacket. Were going to have some fun now girly
(-Waits for partners post-)
/me unzips his pants, removing his cock and stroking it eagerly before moving to his preys mouth. He inserts his cock in the ring gag placed on her preventing any unwanted injuries, grabbing the back of her head and feeding his member down her throat. You like that dont ya, dirty slut.
(-Waits for partners post-)
Control of your Character (God-mode)
Control of your character is exclusive to your character. You dont control the actions, feelings, or thoughts of anyone but yourself. If you wanted to control others characters you should be writing novels instead of playing a game.. You dont know whether the other character is wet/erect without them RPing it or seeing it. You cant assume someone is going to be slapped without waiting for their post to acknowledge it (For all you know they could dodge or put up their hand and give you a high five!) Your control is limited to your character.
There is a major difference between other Sims and Serenity: The use of RLV.
The nature of the Sim lends itself to breaking this particular bit of roleplay etiquette. The use of an RLV based HUD ensures that a predator can capture their prey. Due to this, any action a predator takes to capture and subdue prey is not attempted if it can be forced though RLV. Prey are expected to RP their part accordingly and accept that these things are beyond their control. That being said, resisting and fighting back is perfectly acceptable, so long as they are actions that one would have the ability to do if restrained in such a manner in RL. Such actions however, would be attempted. Remember that RP is a story told by those involved and that this story evolves through the entire length of the RP session. Your actions, even if restrained, can influence a predator and facilitate your freedom….or result in prolonged restraint!
No information OOC should be used to identify or know another character whilst IC. The only thing you know about someone is what you see in front of you or what youve learned from others IC. You shouldnt know any other characters name, history, or mindset without them explicitly telling you or learning from another character IC.
